CipherX has four flat-rate kids birthday party packages, identical at Coquitlam and Delta: the Birthday Adventure (6 kids, $250), the VR Party (ages 8+, 6 kids, $250), the Slime Party (ages 5–14, 10 kids, $350) and The Crew (10 kids, $400). Every party runs two hours with time in a private party room, and you’re welcome to bring your own cake and food.
The right pick comes down to three things: your child’s age, how many friends are coming and what kind of energy the group has. This guide compares all four kids birthday party packages side by side, then walks through add-ons, value for money and booking tips.

What every package includes
- A flat rate, not a per-person price, so you know your total before you send a single invitation.
- Two hours in total. For Packs A, B and D, that’s 1 hour of activity plus 1 hour in a private party room for cake, food and gifts. The Slime Party’s 90-minute workshop takes place within its 2 hours of party room time.
- Outside cake and food welcome. Bring the cake your child actually wants and the snacks the guests will actually eat.
- Dedicated staff support throughout the party.
- The same packages and prices at CipherX Coquitlam and CipherX Delta.
Package by Package
Pack A: Birthday Adventure (6 kids, $250)
The most flexible option. You choose one activity for the hour: an escape room, free-roam VR, X-Grid or the splatter room. Escape rooms take 2–6 players, so a group of six fits neatly into one room for 60 minutes of puzzles with a live Game Master running the game.
Pack B: VR Party (ages 8+, 6 kids, $250)
A full hour of free-roam VR with wireless headsets, so kids walk around freely rather than sitting in one spot. You pick 4 games. Coquitlam runs HeroZone, while Delta runs VEX with haptic vests that let players feel the action.
Pack C: Slime Party (ages 5–14, 10 kids, $350)
A 90-minute Slime Chef workshop where each child makes 2 custom slimes to take home. Lab coats and safety goggles are provided, and a dedicated host runs the session. At 10 kids, it works out to $35 per child. See the slime party page for the full details.
Pack D: The Crew (10 kids, $400)
Built for bigger friend groups. Choose an escape room, X-Grid or the splatter room. VR isn’t part of the 10-kid package because VR runs a maximum of 6 headsets, but it can be added as an add-on with kids rotating through. At 10 kids, The Crew works out to $40 per child.
How to Choose the Right Party
By age
- Ages 5–7: the Slime Party, the splatter room (no age restrictions, and the paint is safe for all ages) or X-Grid (ages 5+, under 16 with an adult).
- Ages 8–10: everything above, plus the VR Party and beginner escape rooms such as Pirates at Delta or Wizarding World at Coquitlam.
- Ages 11–14: VR, escape rooms and X-Grid team modes tend to land best. The Slime Party still works right up to 14.
By group size
- Up to 6 kids: Pack A or Pack B.
- 7–9 kids: Pack A with extra kids at $40 each, subject to capacity. For example, 8 kids on Pack A would be $250 + 2 × $40 = $330.
- 10 kids: Pack C or Pack D. As a comparison, 10 kids on Pack A would be $250 + 4 × $40 = $410. That makes The Crew at $400 the better value.
- 11–14 kids: Pack C or Pack D, plus extra kids at $40 each, subject to capacity.
- 15 or more kids: contact CipherX for a custom quote.
By energy and personality
- Movers and competitors: X-Grid, the light-up sensor floor with live leaderboards and team game modes.
- Puzzlers: an escape room, where the whole group has to work together to get out.
- Makers: the Slime Party, with two creations each to take home.
- Artists who don’t mind mess: the splatter room, where kids paint their own canvas and then switch to a blacklight UV paint battle.
- Gamers: the VR Party.
Add-Ons and Upgrades
- Extra kids: $40 each, subject to capacity.
- Splatter Battle upgrade: $150 flat. Ask the team how it fits with the package you’ve chosen.
- VR add-on: available on The Crew, with kids rotating through the 6 headsets.
- Delta extras: older birthday crews at CipherX Delta can also add axe throwing (teens and adults; see the axe throwing page for age rules) or the golf simulator.
Parents can also join CipherX Rewards for free. You earn a point for every dollar spent and get a free game on your birthday.
Booking Tips and What to Bring
- Book early for weekends. Weekend parties fill 2–4 weeks ahead, especially 10-kid packages. Weekdays usually have openings within a week.
- Arrive 15 minutes early for the briefing and waivers.
- Closed-toe shoes are required for X-Grid, so mention it on the invitation.
- Pack the party-room basics: the cake, candles, a lighter, snacks, drinks and anything you need to serve them.
- Bring a bag or box for take-homes, whether that’s slime or a splatter canvas.
How a two-hour party flows
For the Birthday Adventure, VR Party and The Crew, a typical party looks like this:
- Arrival (15 minutes before start): check-in, briefing and waivers.
- First hour: the activity, with CipherX staff running the session.
- Second hour: the private party room. Serve food first while everyone is hungry, then cake, then gifts.
- Wrap-up: hand out take-homes and gather coats so pick-up is quick.
The Slime Party runs a little differently: the 90-minute workshop happens inside your 2 hours of party room time, so plan to serve cake in the final stretch.
