Your Game Master monitors everything through a camera system and can feed hints when you're stuck — but only if you ask. The clock doesn't stop for anyone.

Arrive 10 minutes before your booking. Sign your waiver (or do it online beforehand), meet your Game Master and store your belongings in a locker.
Your Game Master delivers the room's storyline and rules. You'll learn how to request hints and what the goal is. The suspense builds from here.
The door locks, the clock starts. Explore every inch of the set, find clues, solve puzzles and collaborate with your team. Every detail could be a clue.
Puzzles connect and build toward the final lock. If you're stuck, request a hint. You have 60 minutes. The clock shows no mercy.
Whether you escape or not, the GM walks you through any unsolved puzzles and takes your group photo in front of the room. Your result is logged on our leaderboard.
Good to Know
Check every drawer, under every object, behind every frame. Nothing is off-limits and nothing is there by accident.
The biggest reason teams fail is people silently working on the same clue. Call out what you find — every detail could click for a teammate.
Hints are free — there's no shame in asking. A hint at the right moment can unblock your team and save precious minutes.
CipherX rooms are designed so nothing requires physical force. If something won't open or move, you're missing a step.
Arrive 10 minutes before your slot. Late arrivals reduce your time in the room — the clock starts whether you're ready or not.
Phones and smart watches are not permitted inside the rooms. Lockers are provided. Trust us — you'll be too busy to miss your phone.
Escape Room FAQ
Yes, we strongly recommend booking online in advance — especially on weekends. Walk-ins are accepted subject to availability, but popular rooms often sell out. Booking takes under two minutes at cipherx.ca/book-now.
Technically yes, but escape rooms are designed as team experiences. Solo play is very difficult — we recommend a minimum of 2 players. Groups of 4–6 tend to have the best success rates and the most fun.
Request a hint. Your Game Master is watching and happy to give you a nudge. There's no limit on hints — we'd rather you progress and enjoy the room than stare at the same puzzle for 20 minutes.
Not in the traditional jump-scare sense. Some rooms like Lilith and Chernobyl have spooky themes but there are no live actors, no physical contact and no sudden scares. Family-friendly options like Wizarding World, Pirates and Jumanji are always available. Check individual room ratings before booking if you're sensitive to horror themes.
Players must be 8 years or older. Players under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Rooms vary in theme — some horror-themed rooms are recommended for 13+ due to atmospheric content.
Both locations are wheelchair accessible and our rooms are designed to be playable for participants with mobility challenges. Contact us in advance and we'll advise on which rooms best suit your group's needs.
Each room supports 2–8 players. Groups of 4–6 typically have the best experience — enough minds to solve puzzles quickly but not so many that the room feels crowded. Larger groups can book multiple rooms simultaneously.
Each escape room session is 60 minutes inside the room, plus about 15 minutes for the briefing and debrief. Plan for roughly 75–90 minutes total at the venue.
